Introduction
Stabilization and Reconstruction campaigns have proven immensely complex, multi-faceted, complicated, and they are likely to remain a pillar of both US foreign assistance and national security policy for the foreseeable future. Accordingly, within the context of the utilizing “Smart Power” in SSTR operations, the conference will enable participants to explore and contribute to understanding and overcoming policy and operational challenges as well as shaping opportunities inherent to more efficient and effective stabilization efforts.
In particular participants will:
- Increase awareness and understanding of different perspectives and approaches toward the application of a wider array of multi-dimensional stabilization, reconstruction and sustainable development tools;
- Discuss and share insights on better coordinating and integrating governmental and non-governmental efforts; and
- Network with and learn from a range of actors and stakeholders working across different all stages of the pre-conflict to combat to security and sustainable peace and stabilization development continuum.
