As the annual Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict (SO/LIC) Symposium was cancelled in February of this year due to inclement weather, we proudly announce the rescheduling of our Awards Banquet! Join us in Tampa, FL as we honor our 2009 SO/LIC Division award recipients!
The following awards will be presented at this year's SO/LIC Awards Dinner.
R. Lynn Rylander Award
Presented to: GEN Bryan "Doug" Brown, USA (Ret)
The R. Lynn Rylander Award, our most prestigious award, is presented annually to an individual who has made distinctive contributions in the areas of Special Operations or Low Intensity Conflict. Selection criteria include singular achievements as well as career and lifetime contributions that have been of the highest impact – significant and lasting – to the SO/LIC community and in consonance with – and in support of – the goals and objectives of NDIA and the SO/LIC Division.
DeProspero Lifetime Achievement Award
Presented to: Congressman Hugh James "Jim" Saxton, (Ret)
This award is presented annually and recognizes sustained, distinguished service of an individual who has made distinctive contributions in the areas of Special Operations or Low Intensity Conflict over a period of many years.
Achievement Awards
These annual awards recognize individuals who have made significant contributions (singular acts or cumulative service) in the areas of Special Operations or Low Intensity Conflict while serving at operational and implementational levels. Service in any capacity – combat, support or otherwise – is recognized.
