Introduction
Joint Armaments Conference, Exhibition & Firing Demonstration - 2010 "21st Century Weapon Systems - Providing the Right Response"
**Gun & Missile and Small Arms Combined for the First Time**
The 45th Gun and Missile Systems Conference and Exhibition will be combined with the International Infantry & Joint Services Small Arms Systems Symposium, Exhibition & Firing Demonstration. It will be held May 17-20, 2010 in Dallas TX. The combined conference will address the theme, “21st Century Weapon Systems – Providing the Right Response,” with a sub theme for Gun and Missile of “Precision and Lethality in Medium and Large Caliber”, and a sub theme for Small Arms of “Technology and Systems Sustaining and Evolving Small Arms Capability.” The conference will provide a forum for discussing methods to enhance defense-related capabilities that will meet the changing requirements of the battle field in the 21st century—not only through new technology, but also through development of systems and personnel. A broad range of topics related to design and development of technology and training, and development of people in these fields are requested and will be presented.
Both fields of endeavor (Gun & Missile and Small Arms) will be addressed through concurrent sessions. You can expect to see presentations in each area that are in line with what you have seen in the past, AND you have the opportunity, at no additional cost, to sit in on sessions of interest that are typically in the opposite symposium. For the Gun & Missile community, the full scope of gun and missile tactical weaponry and related components will be discussed including: direct/indirect/precision fire systems, tactical rockets and missiles, energetics, effectiveness, modeling and simulation, platform integration and emerging technologies.
For the Small Arms community, topics include: individual weapons & equipment, small arms ammunition, crew-served infantry weapons, fire control technology, mounts and ancillary equipment, less than lethal systems, training devices and systems, related enabling technology and modeling and simulation.
