Introduction

The Strike, Land Attack & Air Defense Division and the Missile Defense Division of NDIA will hold a new type of annual symposium that is focused on an increasingly critical area of national defense --- the state of Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).

This new effort will be a product of the combined efforts of NDIA’s Missile Defense and Strike, Land Attack, and Air Defense Divisions, and is intended to provide an audience of technical and engineering professionals, both from government and industry, with an overview, at the SECRET level, of current Missile Defense Agency and Navy programs contributing to both Missile Defense and Air Defense capabilities, including discussion of path toward integration of these capabilities into Integrated Air and Missile Defense.

The forum, to be hosted by the John Hopkins Applied Physics Lab (JHU/APL) in Laurel, MD, in their Kossiakoff Conference Center, will provide an opportunity for communicating with the right audience current MDA and Navy priorities, needs and challenges in executing the global BMDS program, along with the near-term focus on the European Phased Adaptive Approach.  The agenda, currently in development, will include presentations from both the Navy and MDA, covering such topics as the BMDS, 10th Fleet (USN Cyberspace initiatives), Aegis BMD/NAMDC, C2BMC, GMD, Sensors, and Advanced BMD Technology.
