Presidential Executive Order on Assessing and Strengthening the Manufacturing and Defense Industrial Base and Supply Chain Resiliency of the United States
The Executive Order directed the Pentagon to work with other agencies on a deep-dive analysis of the defense industrial base. The White House called it a “groundbreaking” effort to look at U.S. manufacturing capabilities from a broad national security perspective.
The National Defense Industrial Association supports President the initiative to conduct a “whole of government” review of the defense industrial base. NDIA represents a large part of that base and believes the action is a long time in coming. NDIA through its various Divisions, and particularly the Manufacturing Division, is offering its support for the research and study.
