Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Announce the Release of Video Footage from The 2012 Warrior-Family Symposium (WFS)
The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) co-hosted the 2012 Warrior-Family Symposium on September 13 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. This year’s program, “Saluting Their Sacrifice: A Decade of Challenges and Triumphs for Our Wounded Heroes and Their Families,” aimed at expanding on the collective efforts of government and non-government organizations, over the past decade, to improve the physical, psychological, and overall well-being of wounded warriors and their families.
The event was successful in its goal of shining a light on the support and assistance provided to severely wounded service members and their families since the fateful 9-11 attacks that spurred large scale combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The purpose was to identify what additional efforts need to be made by both government and non-government organizations to ensure these heroes, and their family care-givers, receive the attention, services, and support they need to make the journey from recovery, to rehabilitation, to transition, back into a productive life.
The Symposium was attended by more than 450 government leaders, care-givers and supporting organizations, making it one of the most successful and relevant continuing conferences covering the needs of our combat wounded.
Videos from the Symposium, showcasing such topic areas as “How Wounded Warriors-Families are Doing Today” and “Linking Alliances to New Beginnings”, can be seen below.
