The U.S.-Sweden Defense Industry Conference was organized by the following organizations:
The 10th U.S.-Sweden Defense Industry Conference was held in Washington, DC on 9 October 2003. The conference objectives were for participants to obtain a firsthand review of Swedish and U.S. procurement and acquisition policies and strategies and to enhance U.S.-Sweden defense cooperation, technology transfer, and trade.
The theme of this conference was “Half a Century of Successful Cooperation - A Foundation for the 21st Century.” Acknowledging a half century of successful defense industrial partnering, Swedish and American industrialists are setting the course for the 21st Century. Discussions highlighted Swedish - American partnering opportunities, while keeping in mind the broader transatlantic defense industry challenges and opportunities. This day-long conference brought together people who are making that happen. Meet with senior Swedish and U.S. government officials and industry decision makers representing aircraft, ammunitions, radar, electronics, command and control, information technology systems, and more.
This conference was organized by the National Defense Industrial Association, the Swedish Trade Council, and the Swedish Federation of Defense Industries and had the support of the U.S. Department of Defense and the Ministry of Defense of Sweden.
After the conference, the Swedish Ambassador, H.E. Jan Eliasson, hosted a buffet reception at the Ambassador’s residence.
