Model Chapter Program (Participation in this program is voluntary)
In 2001, the program was established to promote the continuing relationship and communication between the Association and the chapters. The chapter structure is a vital platform in which members can network locally with government and private industry on defense-related issues.
The program allows each chapter (Board of Directors) to measure its own performance and determine whether or not it, meets the necessary criteria of achieving Model Chapter status. Once the criteria have been fulfilled by a chapter, the board members are to submit documentation to National for final approval. Due to internal management and guidelines, several of the criteria are mandatory.
In recognition of a chapter attaining Model Chapter status, a customized podium banner will be inscribed with “Chapter Name, NDIA Model Chapter and year 20xx” for display at events.
Secondly, each board member will recieve a customized Model Chapter 20XX lapel pin.
Lastly, in recognition of the program, each chapter’s name will be posted from National homepage (www.ndia.org), and recognition in the August issue (Mega Directory issue) of our National Defense magazine.
Call for nominations of 2016 Model Chapters will be posted soon.
