Find NDIA at the USA Science and Engineering Festival

Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24.
Freedom Plaza, booth 1541.

"Understanding weightlessness – how will simple experiments be different if conducted in zero-gravity?"

What happens to a ball when it is in space, a place without gravity?  How does water behave without gravity?

A variety of experiments will be available to middle school students who will be asked to conduct the experiment, predict how the experiment would change if conducted on the space station, and then watch a video of how the experiment actually played out on a zero-G flight. Most of the experiments deal with Newton’s Laws of Physics and can be recreated by the students at home or in school with common hardware store items. Scientists and Engineers from several member companies will be available to assist the students. Videos are provided by Northrop Grumman’s “Weightless Flights of Discovery” program.
