U.S. Army Security Assistance Command Partnering Days
The United States Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC) has partnered with the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) International Division to organize Partnering Day. The purpose of these meetings is to facilitate open dialogue among Army FMS partners, defense industry, USASAC and the Army acquisition community in regards to potential business opportunities and security assistance in international defense programs.
In May of 2004, USASAC conducted its first Partnering Day, which focused on the Strategic Product Plan (SPP), a series internal process improvements designed to streamline the FMS process in support of U.S. national security and army goals. NDIA supported this initial meeting by coordinating U.S. industry involvment.
Following the success of the first meeting, USASAC and NDIA have teamed together to organize 3-4 events a year. Topics for each meeting are selected by an industry-USASAC team and will include acquistion programs with ongoing or potential international applications. Speakers for each event will include resident experts from USASAC, the Acquisition community and the industry product teams. Meetings take place in the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area and are schedule for two and one half hours of presentations followed by a one hour cocktail reception.
