The Embassy/Defense Attaché Luncheon Series

Each year, the International Division organizes a series of luncheons with the defense attaché staff from foreign allied and friendly embassies. The purpose of these luncheons is to provide industry with an opportunity to dialogue with foreign government representatives and for attaché staff to provide industry with briefings on the defense acquisition programs of their respective countries.

Maj Gen Giovanni Fantuzzi, Defense and Defense Cooperation Attaché, Italian Ministry of Defense, gave our keynote address and was accompanied by RMDL Fabrizio Simoncini, Naval Attaché, Col Flavio Danielis, Air Force Attaché, and Col Giuseppe Battaglia, Assistant Defense Attaché.

Washington Embassy Dialogue Series: Belgian Attache Luncheon

'Belgium and Its Defense'
This luncheon featured Brigadier General Mike Delobel, Defense, Military, Naval and Air Attache, Embassy of Belgium in Washington, DC and LTC Luc Simoen, Director Belgian Military Supply Office and Defense Cooperation Attaché.  The two presented an overview of the recent developments related to the transformation of the Belgian Defense Establishment and the impact on the Material Resources with a focus on Operations and on the Defense Budget.

In addition to General Delobel, former Defense Attaché for Belgium to the U.S. Brigadier General (Ret) Dany Van de Ven, Jr., Director, BSDI (Belgian Security and Defence Industry) joined the group to give an overview of the technological and industrial capacities of the sector security and defense in Belgium. In particular the possibilities of partnering or working with the member companies of the association BSDI will be highlighted.

Defense Attache Luncheon: Denmark

This luncheon featured Lieutenant Colonel Per Lyse Rasmussen, Danish Defence Industry Attaché from the Royal Danish Embassy in Washington D.C.  Lieutenant Colonel Rasmussen discussed the next Danish Defense Agreement covering 2010-14 and also briefed on the procurement plan for the same period.
