Health Affairs Division
The Health Affairs Division provides a forum for the exchange of views and information between government, industry and the public with regard to health care technology, consulting and training, and matters of common concern in the health care field. The division provides government with industry perspectives relating to health care policies, regulations, procedures and best practices for the purpose of improving efficiency in these areas.
The Health Affairs Division, established in 1996, maintains its focus on areas relating to policymaking, planning, programming and regulation of health care technology. The division also considers the related areas of research and development, technology modeling and simulation, procurement, military medicine, software and health care providers.
The division seeks opportunities to promote meaningful interaction and dialog between high-level government and industry officials from across health care. For example, in 2014, the division initiated a breakfast roundtable series to discuss how industry can best support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) enterprise shared services, as well as to explore strategies to create a better, stronger, more relevant medical force. As with many NDIA events, these sessions are closed to the media and trade press, so all comments are strictly off the record and not-for-attribution. Additionally, the division has teamed with the US Army Medical Research and Material Command (USAMRMC) to produce Military Medicine Partnership Days. This event will be a 2-21/2 day symposium and exhibition held in the greater Washington, D.C. area in the spring of 2015.
