Environment, Energy Security & Sustainability (E2S2) Symposium & Exhibition
Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
New Orleans, Louisiana
June 10-13, 2013
It is with sincere regret that NDIA must cancel the Environment, Energy Security & Sustainability (E2S2) Symposium & Exhibition in New Orleans originally scheduled for June 10-13, 2013.
As you are aware, on January 10, 2013 the Department of Defense issued a memorandum detailing actions to be taken to mitigate budget risk in the event Sequestration was actually implemented. That guidance included curtailment of all but mission-critical travel for government employees, staff and leaders. With the implementation of Sequester on March 1, 2013 budgetary pressures have increased even more with yet another significant budget event being the expiration of the current Continuing Resolution funding the DoD on March 27, 2013. The effects of these government actions and decisions have rendered the conduct of the planned E2S2 no longer possible. With government environment, energy security and sustainability leaders and officials unable to travel to conferences, the purpose of E2S2 can no longer be fulfilled.
All registered Attendees and Exhibitors will receive a full refund of fees paid. Registrants are reminded that they are responsible for cancelling their own hotel reservations, and other travel–related arrangements.
E2S2 has proven to be an important venue for industry to receive critical information relating to government policies, procedures, priorities and plans for environment, energy security and sustainability programs and issues. At present we are exploring alternative activities and means for delivering critical content and discussions on these programs and issues to our members and loyal customers in defense industry. As plans develop, we will advise you accordingly.
