The association's membership base consists of over 1,600 corporate members (Corporate Member Portal) and more than 86,000 individuals from the spectrum of the defense and national industrial base. Membership offers a source for business intelligence and networking opportunities through the association's events, working divisions, and chapters. NDIA promotes a vigorous and ethical forum for information exchange between the government and the defense industry, providing members with a voice in the shaping of national security issues.

NDIA manages the logistics and execution of the most prestigious defense tradeshows and symposiums. Our full-service meetings and tradeshow department work with clients from government agencies, the military services, and support defense contractors who are tasked to develop symposiums, conferences, workshops and exhibitions. We can assist your planning, handle the logistics, and manage the onsite program at no cost or liability to the client. Ask us how

The association offers the opportunity to increase knowledge, contacts, and hear from the movers and shakers in the various fields through its network of divisions and chapters and over 80 technical and policy symposia and convention-exhibit programs each year. Click here for more information on meetings and events. From armaments for transformation to undersea warfare technology, there are many ways to build your knowledge and programs.

If you are interested in contributing and facilitating the government and industry interchange, the NDIA Division structure is principal vehicle for doing so. The 37 divisions and 6 Industrial Working Groups offer a wide array of opportunity to contribute ideas, recommendations, and objective study and analysis. The divisions maintain close contact with representatives of appropriate government agencies and through their constructive counsel have become institutions in American defense-industry relationships.

Our chapters located in most parts of the nation offer the opportunity for individual and business coordination with regional military commands and working levels of the federal government in the field. They are important elements to help NDIA and its members understand defense requirements and needs, both war-fighting and support.

Our monthly journal National DEFENSE provides the latest developments in technology, arms and weaponry, plus nuggets of information on who, what, where and other important business information tailored to covering issues of concern to industry and the government.

Interested in policy? NDIA is a respected association. Our Government Policy business center works to strengthen the government-industry partnership through dialogue, education, and interaction. The center monitors legislative and regulatory issues and interacts with Congress and federal agencies, as well as a number of industry working groups. NDIA is also part of several coalitions that meet periodically to coordinate the private sector’s position on specific issues.

NDIA traces its history to the American Defense Preparedness Association (ADPA), founded in 1919, and the National Security Industrial Association (NSIA), founded in 1944. The new NDIA founded in March 1997 is a non-partisan, non-profit, educational association with offices in Arlington, Virginia. (Click to view our Leadership)
